2. Hosting and server log files

This website is served by GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, GitHub processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, and browser and operating system details. GitHub uses this data to deliver the website and keep it secure. I have no access to these logs myself.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data is transferred to the USA on the basis of the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR), under which GitHub is certified. Details: GitHub Privacy Statement.

3. No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services. Fonts are served from this server; no third-party content (such as Google Fonts) is embedded.

If you switch between the light and dark design with the button in the header, your browser stores that choice locally (local storage, key theme). The entry never leaves your device, is only created at your explicit request (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG) and can be deleted in your browser settings at any time.

4. Contacting me

If you contact me by email or phone, I process the details you provide (such as name, email address and the content of your request) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request concerns a contract or pre-contractual steps, and otherwise my legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention periods apply.

This website links to external services (such as GitHub and LinkedIn). These are plain links: no data is transferred until you click one. The respective provider is responsible for data processing on the linked pages.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). Please contact me at the address above.

7. Right to lodge a complaint

You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for me is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany, www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de.
